winemaking Left the world of cubicles to start my own creative design agency. A new father to the perfect daughter with the best wife ever. Typically found working in the backyard with my dogs and a cigar... and possibly a pint... or glass of vino.
Life is good.

Friday, November 14, 2008 at 03:16PM Happy Friday my quiet website lurkers (You know who you are... lurking without commenting. The web logs don't lie, ya know).
If anyone wants to come to our place for football and wine, our door will be open. If you make it for the morning games, you'll also get to watch wine get pressed too! I'll have the press on the back patio and will be pressing both my Malbec and Zinfandel.
Come for the games. Come for an Olivia-fix. Come for the vino.
GO EAGLES!

Friday, November 14, 2008 at 01:10PM Jen went into work today to tell them she wasn't coming back. She parted on great terms and I'm sure she'll help them out at random but as of now, she's officially a mother and housewife (which is arguablly more difficult than any office job if you ask me).

Friday, November 14, 2008 at 08:05AM Don't expect many updates for the next few days. I finished the installation on Adobe Creative Suite 4 and the new features for all these application are AWESOME. After spening just 20 minutes watching high level tutorials on the apps I use most, I can already see myself gaining time in so many ways.
YIPEE!
Now, SHHH! I'm trying to watch my tutorials =)

Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 11:37PM Our garage door took a crap the other night.
Our landlord went against the recommendation to install a proper door and opener back when we moved in and now, the track and spring totally popped apart and the door doesn't lift without SERIOUS effort. I struggled to open and close it by hand so we could get Jen's car out and the recycling cans.
Now, I get to break the news to the landlord but now, he'll be looking at an entirely new setup: new door, new tracks, new springs, new everything. Sucks for him!

Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 10:06AM As of 10am today, this O'Donnell family 100% debt-free! DEBT FREE... HOLY SHIT! The last item on the list was Jen's student loan and she just made the final payment closing the account for good this morning.
I am blown away by Jen's skills with finances. She tackled both our cars, multiple credit cards, 2 huge lines of credit and a student loan all within 2 years or so. Jen, you fuckin' ROCK!
Since I started consulting, we've been socking away extra funds for our down payment on our first house and we've done pretty well. I'd say we're about half way there. But now, with only our monthly expenses, we can REALLY start socking it away making our dream a reality. Our lease here in Pleasant Hill ends in June I think so between now and then, we should have a down payment sizable enough to get the type of house we really want. No "fixer-uppers" necessary!
...
Jen, you're the best!
